Getting testimonials, more or less painlessly

You know, the Duct Tape Marketing blog really is well-named. My favorite thing about Jan Jantsch is that his marketing ideas really are low-cost or no-cost strategies that can be implemented by the most cash strapped microbusiness.

For example, I really like this idea about how to generate usable testimonials from your current customers. Of course, Jantsch writes for the consulting/coaching/business services crowd but his ideas are applicable pretty much across the board.

And it's a very clever idea.

Unless you're skittish about giving references to prospects because you're really lousy at what you do. Under those circumstances, it seems there's little that can help you.
