I guess those race myths just won't die

Fortune Small Business is running an article right now in which the writer Louise Witt answers the profoundly inane question: Why do minorities consider becoming entrepreneurs?

Yes, I do have a problem with the question.

Why even ask it? Needing to even enquire implies either that (a) for some reason, minorities wanting to become entrepreneurs is contrary to one's expectations of minorities or (b) minorities have reasons for wanting to become entrepreneurs that can be expected to be different from non-minorities' reasons for wanting to become entrepreneurs.

Both of those assumptions are, of course, full of bull feathers. It's as idiotic as it is insulting.

I used to have a better opinion of Fortune. Oy.
