More unmarketing marketing

I guess today is the day for it.

Further brilliance from Kathy Sierra of Headrush on teaching as marketing ... great stuff for the marketing-makes-me-retch crowd. The gist is that anything you really believe in, you can teach.

The really believe in stuff is critical for those squeamish folks who balk at such marketing techniques as deception, manipulation and verbal sleight of hand. If you can teach your customers to be better at [fill in the blank] -- which is a skill that will, coincidentally, enhance the enjoyment or usefulness they derive from your product -- what you get is that win/win stuff that comes from making money and being virtuous.
