Happy online shopping holidays to come

Speaking of remote sellers and shipping charges ...

ClickZ Stats reports that both JupiterResearch and Forrester Research are predicting much merriness for online retailers this holiday shopping season.

High prices at the pump are expected to persuade more consumers to stay at home and shop from their computers, where the only fuel they'll need will be a ham sandwich.

Jupiter and Forrester are both forecasting double-digit growth for this retail channel's holiday sales, with Jupiter predicting an 18% increase over last year's numbers and the even-more-optimistic Forrester clocking in at 25% growth.

Both these market analysis firm report that the lure of free shipping promotions will be another big factor in persuading shoppers that they have more to gain by shopping from home. Good thing those postal rate increases don't go into effect until next year!
